Marketing and Advertising VS Design and Communication

Taking his cue from an article in Il Sole 24 Ore try to make some observations on advertising, communication and the web. First of all the data encouraging: "Investment on the Internet are growing, as shown by the figure registered in 2009: + 6.4 and a value of 870 million. And forecasts for 2010 are even better: an estimated growth of 12%, while over 90% of Italian firms expect to increase their investment on 'online in the next two years. "
Certainly increases the awareness of the importance of web communications, as well as parallel communication on social media. Related to this and helped by the iPhone, iPad and mobile in general "Positive e-mail marketing, rising 5%.
But we can still talk about advertising, or are forms of communication that should enter into a new category?. With the advent of marketing there was a radical change in communication strategies, both short and long term. (In this regard there would be many other considerations to do) but now with new languages, new channels and new ways to make communication can still talk ... just advertising? And above all, the old methods are still valid?

Certainly on some media, the classical ones, you can still talk about advertising, although the strategies have changed in response to reactions of consumers, often become immune to advertising. But what about the new media centers believe that advertising does not much and perhaps even wrong to talk about media marketing, related precisely to the old way of doing marketing. The term I prefer is communications design, but in essence is a new way to approach people who are increasingly taking a key role and an increased awareness of their role.
It then outlines two "worlds":
- That of advertising in traditional channels (TV in particular) with a target increasingly delineated.
- And a new world of the web, which represents a new type of consumer and a new way of relating, but no longer speak of target people, individuals and social groups.

Just Tortona (notes confused about FuoriSalone 2010)

How can you say "the crisis is over!" If it is not? The answer is no and here, in the entity of abnormal and uncoded FuoriSalone, which now seems to be more trend-setter of the same show.
A mass of huge and shapeless events, happenings, exhibitions of all sorts that extraordinary importance for the fate of that official event - thousands of people descend on the streets of key areas of FuoriSalone to find space and everything that inspires them these days - has made it ever has seen this year as "rent and set up" unlikely spaces such as workshops rather than communal courtyards.

Speaking of packaging I could not talk about BVD , an agency in Stockholm of the most important in Europe, winning several times by the ED-Awards . Their projects speak for themselves, with a typically north-European style, particularly popular with designers around the world.
